Promoting Lifelong Activity among Youth

Welcome to the PLAY Lab

This is the Promoting Lifelong Activity among Youth (PLAY) Lab. We are located at San Diego State University within the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences. We are dedicated to supporting positive physical activity behaviors across the lifespan.

Our areas of focus include physical activity promotion, youth sports, and community-based programs.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY – What We Do

Physical activity is so important for the health of our youth. But for many kids, it can be hard to be active in their homes, schools, and communities. PLAY Lab is focused on understanding and addressing these challenges.

We know that having safe places for kids to move and play is important for families. So we work together with community members to develop fun, creative solutions that help keep kids active and healthy. We are passionate about working with our younger generations because we know that happy, healthy kids become happy, healthy adults.
